Organisations we work with
what they say about us
"Dr Ellie Chowns MP commissioned Accessible Herefordshire to support the work of her office at the level of a “Gold Audit”. Committing to a year of support has meant that the whole team (7 locally, 2 in Westminster) see that accessibility is absolutely part of how we do things!
Practically, the audit that was undertaken by AH brought to our attention a number of areas where we could improve accessibility and this checklist has been worked upon through the year. This has mean changes to our website; the venues chosen for meetings with Ellie and her team and how the accessibility is communicated; how all options for communications are looked upon routinely – we are definitely not an email only office!
AH have provided resources for the team to refer to even going so far as to screen shot how we add Alt text to images across different platforms.
Liaison has mainly been through the local office manager, but there has been face to face time with the wider team and encouragement through a simple exercise to really consider accessibility from the perspective of someone with different access requirements to one’s own.
The option of a longer-term working relationship through the Gold Audit has been particularly helpful" Dr Ellie Chowns MP

"Services for Independent Living recently worked with Accessible Herefordshire CiC on the renewal of our Disability Leader Level 3 accreditation. Vicky and Angela have sound, practical knowledge and their support throughout the process was instructive and very much welcomed.
Accessible Herefordshire CiC offered clear guidance, constructive feedback, and a collaborative approach that helped us strengthen our overall accessibility offer. They raised important points around hearing accessibility, which enabled us to reflect on our current provision and identify meaningful improvements moving forward.
We are grateful for their expertise and the positive, practical support they provided. Working with them has been a genuinely beneficial experience, and we look forward to continuing our relationship as we develop our accessibility work further.” Services for Independent Living

The Bank, accessible accommodation, Preston-on-Wye, Herefordshire "Accessible Herefordshire CIC have given us sound, helpful, supportive and constructive advice from idea conception. We had a supportive phone call with Vicky at the very beginning of our our project to open an accessible holiday accommodation in Herefordshire. Vicky and Angela, then visited us after construction and were enthusiastic and supportive about what we had created. They produced a report with practical ideas and tips on what our guests would find essential and useful. An Access Statement informs visitors that our property has a ceiling track hoist, a specialised bath and wet room, profiling bed, accessible kitchen. Their extra input from a professional perspective and personal experiences is invaluable. They also produced a great accessible itinery and ideas of what to visit in Herefordshire which is very useful. Again, the personal knowledge they shared with us will continue to add value for our guests. They continue to support and champion us in their valuable work in Herefordshire."
